FAQ

Where is your office?
I am currently only seeking clients via Teleatherapy.

Office in Minneapolis MN, Coming Soon!

Do you take insurance?
No, I am no longer in-network with insurance companies, so you must pay me directly. You may, however, be able to receive reimbursement from your insurance company.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
If you need to change or cancel your appointment, I ask that you give me a 24 hours’ notice.
Do you offer video sessions (Teletherapy)?

Yes. I use a secure, HIPPA-compliant video app for use on smartphones or computers. For each session, you will receive an email with a link to our session. If you are on your computer, click on the link; if you plan to use your smartphone, you still tap on the link, but you will be required to download an app before starting our session.

You will only have to download this app once.

Do you offer services anywhere in the world?
No. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for California and Minnesota, so clients must reside in either of those states.
Who do you see? With what types of clients do you work?
Because I use a Humanistic Growth model of therapy, I have had great success working with motivated and willing individuals to invest in their personal growth and self-betterment.
How do I know if you are the right therapist for me?

Because therapy is such a personal process, finding the right therapist can be challenging. According to research, the more significant predictor of success in therapy is the relationship between the client and the therapist.

Therefore, not every therapist is for every person. I have been the best therapist for some clients; for others, I have been the worst.

Success depends on connection and determining if we would be a good fit to work together.

How long will I be in therapy?

Due to the subjective nature of each person, it’s hard to say. I suggest investing 5-7 sessions, and then collectively, we can evaluate your goals and challenges and develop a clear treatment plan.

Some of my clients come in once or twice a week for a few months; then, we will decide whether to meet twice a month and eventually once a month. The goal is to finally get you to a place where you are thriving and no longer need to be in therapy.

I have some clients who come in a few times a year for an occasional maintenance sessions. I also have clients who come back when they are experiencing a difficult season and need additional help.

Dog or Cats?

Oh, I hate having to make decisions like this! I love all animals and have met some cool cats. But there is something about dogs and their ability to gravitate to me and love me.

What kind of tissue do you keep in your office?

This question is an important one. I have tested and tried all tissues! I must say the best of all that I have tried is the Kleenex brand. So if you are not a pretty crier, I got you, and I have plenty of tissue. And don’t worry; I am not a pretty crier either!
